Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day, what it means to me.

Now that I am a mother, Mother's Day is.... just another day to be honest. I don't feel a year older, I don't find gifts under the tree, I don't go searching for eggs and I don't go knocking on my neighbours' doors for candy. I will probably get hand painted rocks in the future, but for this year, I don't think I will feel any different. We'll see May 10 if my feelings change.

This was the card I made last night for my Facebook Live. You can watch it here, on my Youtube channel, please like the video and subscribe to help me grow my audience! If you do watch it on my Facebook page, comment and share, you'll have a chance to win the card! I draw the card I make every week to whoever comments and shares!

The card base is Sahara Sand, cut at 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". I have a Whisper White layer measuring 4 x 5 1/4". I then stamped the poppies from the Painted Poppies stamp set with Memento Black so I could color them with our Stampin' Blends. I used Petal Pink, Mint Macaron for the leaves and Pool Party to add the shadow around the images. For the leaves, I made myself some 'masks' to cover the flowers so I could stamp the leaves and make them seem like they are behind the poppies. I cut a strip of Petal Pink DSP, 1/2" x 5 1/4", then a Smoky Slate DSP strip, 5/8" x 5 1/4". I used the line die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to add a tiny detail edge to those DSP strips. My label comes from the Painted Labels Dies and I used some Mint Macaron to cut it out. Stamped 'Happy' with Stazon so I would get a nice crisp black sentiment, directly on the label, and 'Mother's Day' on Whisper White. Notice that there is a vellum piece behind the label, that also comes from the Painted Labels Dies. Put everything on dimensionals, added a few die-cut leaves around the label and added some pearls and sequins as embellishment.
